Play Offline
This game can be played offline (that is, away from this website) in two different ways after downloading the zipped-up website:
-
By running the GBLORB file ("Quoll Alpha.gblorb") in an
Glulx Interpreter such as
Gargoyle (for Windows) or
Fabularium (for
Android), which have been tested by the developer. You can find untested, but compatible interpreters
for other platforms on
IFWiki's Interpreters Page.
- If you are using Gargoyle or Fabularium, the zip file contains an Gargoyle configuration file ("garglk.ini") which sets up typography similar to the website in those interpreters. The file uses two fonts from Google Fonts (the same as the website uses for the main pages), Roboto Slab (a slab serif for proportional text) and Anonymous Pro (a sans serif for monospaced text). These fonts are also included in the zip file, in their original zip files from Google Fonts. You will either have to un-zip and install those fonts, or change the font references in the Gargoyle Configuration file to whichever fonts you prefer.
- By running the website itself from your machine (this is exactly how I tested it). However, you cannot just open it in your browser, you'll need to set up a local HTTP server, such as described in Vorple's Documentation.
